Silver Dollar - July |
We camped at Silver Dollar
near Turquoise Lake in mid-July 2014. Dede, Andy, and Lizzi drove up
to camp with us. We were in site 37 which was OK. The best site to
reserve is 40.
A short hike takes you to Turquoise Lake at 10,000 feet.
Beautiful water in a
beautiful surrounding.
Lizzi could not control
herself. She had to jump in the cold water and mess around despite
not have a swimming suit or towel.
There is "dare me and I
will probably do it" Lizzi. |
Super cool picture of
Lizzi with snowy mountains in the background.
Like most cats, if there
is an elevated platform to be on, Lizzi is on it.
We took a hike on the path
around the lake to the dam.
Having some lunch at the
campsite.
Dede and Andy enjoying the
perfect weather.
Master Mixologist Dede
preparing beverages.
Kathy cooking pancakes for
breakfast.
Lizzi, still smelling like
fish water, hugs her Aunt Mona.
Andy taking a break in the
camper.
Lizzi flashes peace, bro.
Randy used the outside
kitchen to cook up some bacon.
For dinner we needed the
grill so Randy set it up.
We ate some really tasty
Tony's rib-eye steaks.
It was an excellent dinner
suggested by Lizzi complete with steak, corn on the cob, and
twice-baked sweet potatoes. Missed a vegetable but we survived.
We explored Leadville and
then took a break for some coffee and ice cream.
Lizzi ordered some weird
birthday cake-flavored ice cream. |
While browsing through the
thrift store, Lizzi tried on a pair of pre-owned panties costing $1.
Andy almost attended
Colorado Mountain College. Dede figured he would spend more time
skiing than studying.
